Who are the two sisters?
Hi! We are Eva and Lara Michelsen.
Two sisters with a love for travel and an urge to see the world.
Launched in the summer of 2016 as a travel blog for both broke twenty-somethings as well as thirty-somethings traveling luxuriously. Created by two sisters from Iceland who love to travel together and apart.

As a recently graduated 20-year-old with no idea what I wanted to learn in university, I felt like taking a year off and avoiding the decision. Feeling like that was the best idea ever, I didn’t apply to any university. Instead, I got a full-time job in order to save up for a trip around the world.
Aside from being a traveler, I’m also a bit of a movie buff, fashionista, make-up lover and food addict. Also, I have a serious case of wanderlust that leaves me wanting to travel to places that I definitely cannot afford. #broketwentysomethinglife. The places I have been to (thanks to my parents) are The Philippines (My momma’s homeland), United States (Orlando, Florida to be exact), Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, The Netherlands (Family trip to Amsterdam #awesome), Spain, and France.
I am the older one, 32 years of age to be exact, and I have a head start on my bucket list around the world. I currently run my own confectionery, Michelsen Konfekt and work part time as a CEO for Cruise Iceland. I am engaged to a true Icelandic Viking named Gunnar. Gunnar likes to travel a lot with me and his main hobbies are firearms and motorcycles.
I got infected by the travel bug early on. My first memorable trip abroad was at the early age of 9 years when I first went to the Philippines with my family for six weeks. Up until now, I have only managed to visit three of the seven continents, i.e. Europe, Asia and North America but my aim is to visit them all and next continents on the list are South America, Australia, and Africa.
Amongst the countries, I have been to are: Philippines, United States, France, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Greece, Switzerland, Belgium, Italy and more. Take a look at my map below for a full list.
I am not just infected by the travel bug but I love baking and I´m an avid cake decorator (if I can say so myself) and currently run my own cake business in Iceland. I keep a journal of my cake adventures on a blog named Kökudagbókin (The Cake Diary) however it is in Icelandic so it might be difficult to read, but if you want to give it a go visit www.kokudagbokin.is.
I like to keep in shape and prefer weight lifting, swimming and recently found a new passion for CrossFit. So when I am not out traveling, in the kitchen baking you will find me at the gym.
A few fun facts about me: Certified Tourist Guide in Iceland, Certified open water diver by Padi, I hold a firearms license and ride a motorcycle.
