Today is the day we finally go home after traveling the world for 5 ½ months.

This morning, we took a shuttle to the airport and in the afternoon took our last flight heading back home to Iceland. Leaving the beautiful city of New York that has found a special place in my heart.

Suitcases! It had to be done.
We are going home, sitting in the bus to JFK.

I still can’t believe how quickly the time has passed. It all went by so fast. I can honestly say that this trip around the world has been the adventure of a lifetime. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to have done it with other than my big sister, Eva. It’s amazing how we haven’t murdered each other yet.

If anyone who we’ve met on our travels is reading this. We want to thank you for making this trip phenomenal. We’ve met so many amazing people and now we’ve got some great new friends all across the world.

We got a whole seat row to our selves.

It took us roughly five hours to get back to Iceland. It was such a wonderful feeling being back home and seeing our family again. At the same time though, I do feel a bit sad that the trip went by so fast and that it’s suddenly over.

Misty and cloudy Keflavik Airport.
Waiting for our luggage at the airport.

This trip has been amazing, from the places to the experiences and the people we’ve met. If you’ve been keeping up with our trip around the world. Then we would like to thank you for taking the time to read about our adventures. We promise we will continue writing about our travels and we have a few articles waiting to be published. Eva will probably do some more traveling this year so stay tuned!

On our way home from the airport at 1:30 AM.
